Catherine Shields
Catherine Shields is a retired educator with an M.S. Ed in Exceptional Education. Her background includes extensive experience networking with families of persons with disabilities. Catherine's short stories have appeared in Variant Literature, Ariel Chart International Literary Journal, 45 Magazine Women’s Literary Journal, and Spillwords.
Her short story, “The Phantom Ovaries” was nominated for the Pushcart Prize in 2019. She is currently working on her memoir about raising a daughter who grew up with a severe cognitive disability.
